Bahwan Healthcare Centre to organize Blood Donation Camp

Following the huge response received from the public last year, Bahwan Healthcare Centre [BHC], in association with Central Blood Bank, Ministry of Health, will be organizing a Blood Donation Camp on Saturday 24 May 2014, as part of its ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives.
The camp will be held at the Bahwan Medical Centre premises in Al Khuwair [opposite to Safeer International Hotel] from 9am to 2.30pm. Taking note of the huge response for the camp held last year, BHC has extended this year's session by ninety minutes (i.e. till 2.30 pm).
To donate blood, one must be healthy, be at least 17 years old, weigh at least 50 Kgs [or 110 pounds] and have not donated blood in the last 56 days. Before blood donation, every potential donor will receive a brief medical examination during which temperature, pulse, blood pressure and blood count [haemoglobin or haemotocrit] will be measured besides which other health aspects will also be assessed.
