06 June, 2015 - Muscat, Sultanate of Oman.

Bahwan Healthcare Centre's annual blood donation camp held recently at the Bahwan Medical Centre in Al Khuwair was a big draw once again.

A part of Suhail Bahwan Group's ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives, the camp saw more than several donors from all walks of life, including working professionals, housewives, youngsters and employees of Suhail Bahwan Group companies, donating over 135 units of blood in a span of five hours. The camp was organized by Bahwan Healthcare Centre in association with Central Blood Bank, Department of Blood Services, Ministry of Health.

Ms. Amal Suhail Bahwan, Managing Director and Board Member of the Suhail Bahwan Group, who inaugurated the camp in the presence of Central Blood Bank officials said, "I am very pleased to see so many people voluntarily coming to donate blood; it shows the care and concern of the donors to help save the precious lives of needy people. By donating a small quantity of blood, we are not only doing a noble service, but also saving precious lives. It is wonderful to see people taking time off during their weekend and volunteering to donate blood."

As a responsible corporate entity, we, at Bahwan Healthcare Centre, are committed to conduct more such camps in association with the Central Blood Bank," Ms. Amal Bahwan concluded. Ms Amal Bahwan also honoured Mr. Ahmed Al Kharousi, who has donated blood more than 100 times, with a memento in appreciation of his selfless act.

Volunteers from Bahwan Healthcare Centre and staff members from Central Blood bank ensured that donors were taken through the process of basic medical check-up and blood collection in a seamless manner. BHC had also made arrangements to serve light snacks to the donors after blood collection.
