Bahwan Healthcare Centre opens three new facilities in Muscat

His Excellency Dr. Sultan Al Busaidi, Advisor of Health Affairs opens Foot-over-Bridge donated by Sheikh Suhail Bahwan

Muscat, Sultanate of Oman - 25 April 2019.

His Excellency Dr. Sultan bin Ya'arub AlBusaidi, Advisor of Health Affairs, Ministry of Health, opened the Foot-Over-Bridge connecting the Royal Hospital premises with the Oman Diabetic Centre on Thursday 25th April 2019, in the presence of Dr. Qasim Bin Ahmed Al Salmi, Director General of Royal Hospital, Sheikh Suhail Bin Salim Bahwan, Chairman of Suhail Bahwan Group Holding, Sheikha Amal Suhail Bahwan, Vice Chairperson and senior officials of Ministry of Health and the Royal Hospital.

The bridge is one of the charity projects donated by Suhail Bahwan Group Chairman Sheikh Suhail Bahwan to enhance the health sector in Oman and to provide the best services for Omanis and residents. It also reflects his firm belief in the principle of partnership and social responsibility and his constant concern to serve the people of this country and its institutions.

The Projects & Interior Design Department of Suhail Bahwan Group had successfully completed the work of the bridge with a total cost of OMR 1 million. The Foot-Over-Bridge is built on Al Ghubrah Street with 3 meter wide and 111 meters long. It is totally air-conditioned and can be accessed from both sides by lifts as well as staircases.

Built with state-of-the-art safety and comfort features, the bridge will be a great relief not only for the transportation of patients as well as for visitors to commute between the two premises without the need for crossing the road. Built entirely of steel, aluminum and glass facades, this unique bridge is a structural design challenge and exemplifies the marvel of engineering and constructional abilities of the nation.
