Bahwan Projects & Telecoms' stand at Oman Geospatial Expo attracts large number of visitors

Bahwan Projects & Telecoms [BPT], one of the flagship companies of Suhail Bahwan Group and the exclusive supplier of specialized survey-solutions equipment from Leica Geosystems, Switzerland to the Sultanate, received huge customer response at the Geospatial Expo held at the Oman International Exhibitions Centre.

His Excellency Mohammed bin Nasser Al Rasbi, Secretary General at the Ministry of Defence who inaugurated the exhibition, paid a visit to the BPT stand, where a range of survey-solutions instruments from Leica where on display. Mr. Yasser Mohammed Kheir, General Manager Bahwan Projects & Telecoms received His Excellency and explained the line of instruments and its functions.

The instruments on display included Leica TM30 Monitoring Sensor, Leica GR25 reference receivers , Leica Viva GNSS & TPS products , Leica FlexLine TS06plus and a Leica Construction Segment products.

Representatives from oil and gas companies, various ministries, defence establishments, power and telecom companies, survey agencies, highways & transport authorities, national remote sensing agencies, survey authorities and cartographic centres, civil aviation authorities and geological and metrological departments visited the BPT stall and keenly watched the product demonstration.

The project also includes setting up a Control Center at NSA headquarters and a Disaster Recovery site for backup at other locations. BPT showcased Leica TM30 Sensor equipment which is already installed in the Oman International Exhibition center, checks & monitors the deformation in the building. The solution helps in minimizing risks associated with large construction projects such as roads, dams, tunnels, bridges, construction sites and high-rise buildings.

The Leica GeoMoS Deformation Monitoring Software displayed at the expo monitors the movement of volcanic slope, the structure of a long bridge or track the settlement of a dam.

Also on display was the Leica FlexLine TS06plus Manual Total Station that is ideal for many daily surveying tasks, especially for mid- to high-accuracy applications such as gathering the coordinates of a bridge or a tunnel, surveying a parcel of land or objects on a construction site and determining measured points on facades or in rooms. Other equipment on display were Leica GR25 Reference Receiver , Leica Viuva Total Station series , which includes a high-accuracy/long-range measurement , with state of art Leica Smartworx viva onboard software and Leica Viva GNSS [GS10 & GS15] integrated, modular solutions.
